The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), is the region’s tourism development agency, with 24 Dutch, English and French country members and a myriad of private sector allied members. The CTO’s vision is to position the Caribbean as the most desirable, year round, warm weather destination. Its purpose is Leading Sustainable Tourism – One Sea, One Voice, One Caribbean.

Roger Caruth JD/Ph.D.

Roger Caruth holds a Ph.D. in Mass Communication and Media Studies from Howard University; J.D. from Atlanta's John Marshall Law School; and MPA and BA from Clark Atlanta University. He studied Mass Communications in undergraduate studies and International Administration and Development in graduate studies, and then went on to John Marshall Law School where he received a Juris Doctor degree in 1999.


In summer 2013, he was awarded a fellowship to participate in the European Summer School on Internet Governance, University of Aarhus and the Medienstadt Leipzig, Germany. He completed the certificate in Preparing Future Faculty Fellow (PFF) (which included serving as a teaching intern at Frederick Community College). He received fellowships from several organizations including: Caribbean Peering and Interconnection Forum (CarPIF II, Curaçao - 2016), American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) Meeting (Fellow: 2016- Montego Bay, Jamaica, 2013 Phoenix, Arizona & Miami 2016); and South School on Internet Governance (SSIG), Trinidad & Tobago, West Indies (2014).


He has presented at several conferences including: The International Association for Media and Communication Research, Leicester, UK, (2016), Barnard College / Columbia University, The Digital Caribbean Small Axe Project, New York, NY, (2014), The International Federation for Information Processing, Ocho Rios, Jamaica, (2013), The National Association of African American Studies & Affiliates, Baton Rouge, (2013), The Association of Faculties for the Advancement of Community College Teaching Conference, Frederick, MD, (2013), Social Media Technology Conference & Workshop (2012), and the Ninety-seventh National Communication Association (NCA), New Orleans, LA, (2011).


He has taught at Morgan State University in the Strategic Communications Department, Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business and Queens College, and Political Science Department, both a part of the City University of New York system, and Georgia Perimeter College in the Department of History and Political Science. Courses taught include Speech, Group Discussion, Family Business, Public Service, Public Administration, Judicial Process, American Government and Politics, Political Science and Media Law.


Roger’s researches International Communications with a focus on the use of information communications technology (ICT) tools, social media more specifically, to improve the quality and standard of life of Caribbean communities in the region and abroad. Specific areas of research and include: policy, law, education, politics, health, economics, culture, agribusiness, tourism and hospitality and energy development.

Ingrid Riley

Ingrid’s career in the Caribbean digital space is just over 12 years long. A big believer in #DigitalCaribbean and its limitless possibilities for the Region, she has also built her influence and thought leadership in the Caribbean Digital space, by writing over 2,000 articles on topics such as Caribbean Startups, Startup Ecosystems, Tech Entrepreneurship, Women in Tech, Innovation, Social Media Trends and The Future of Work. 


She also has her fingers on the pulse of the Caribbean and Diaspora Tech Startup Scene having also listened to and judged over 1,200 startup pitches from 10 Caribbean countries and mentored dozens of Caribbean Entrepreneurs. Ingrid is a speaker on Caribbean tech, startups, innovation and entrepreneurship and have spoken in the Caribbean, USA, Europe & Africa.


She was dubbed the “Caribbean Tech Queen” by Caribbean media in 2012 for her pioneering work in the Caribbean Tech Industry and Tech Startup Ecosystem. She received both a Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) 50Under50 Business Leader Gamer Changer Award + the TechLink Game Changer Social Entrepreneurship Award, in 2012 and 2013 respectively. She was recognised for her work in kick starting Jamaica’s Tech Startup Community in 2007 and pioneering work in helping the development of the Caribbean Startup Ecosystem. Ingrid and her work in the Caribbean is featured in a SiliconValley TEDx Talk given by American Futurist Gary Whitehill.

Claire C. Craig

Claire C. Craig is a Senior IT Officer, Enterprise Applications Support Manager at the University of the West Indies (The UWI). She has a successful ICT career and a track record of over 20 years’ progressive experience and competencies in: organizing, planning, communicating, coordinating multiple projects, training, lecturing, researching and presenting, combined with a genuine desire to develop people. She is dedicated to personal and professional development, and has a sound appreciation for stakeholder relationship management.


She is currently pursuing a PhD at The UWI through Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies (SALISES) where her area of research is Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) in the Caribbean. She holds an EMBA from the ALJ Graduate School of Business, The UWI, a Post Graduate Diploma, Information Engineering and a Bachelor of Business Management. She is a Member of the Coordinating Team of the Caribbean Network Operators Group (CaribNOG), a Board Member of the Bishop Anstey – Trinity College East (BATCE), Chair of the Trinidad & Tobago Chapter of the Association of Caribbean Higher Education Administrators (ACHEA), and a member of the Internet Society (ISOC).


Her skills include: Grant Writing, Project Management, eLearning, Formulating IT Standards, Implementing IP Procedures, Business Process Re-engineering, and Systems Analysis.


Claire has presented papers and technical reports at several local, regional and international meetings and conferences.

Stephen Lee

Stephen Lee is the Chief Executive Officer of ArkiTechs Inc., a US-based technology services firm. He has over 20 years experience in the Information and Communication Technologies Industry. Before joining ArkiTechs, he served in senior executive positions at technology companies in Jamaica and the United States with responsibility for design, development, deployment and servicing of networks and software systems for mid-to large-sized corporations. He has extensive experience consulting on technology initiatives for corporations in the Caribbean, United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Europe.

Under his stewardship, ArkiTechs has expanded from its Florida base to support operations in Washington DC, London and Trinidad and Tobago. The company provides a range of technology services including Strategic IT Consulting, Technology Solution Design, Managed Network Services, Cloud Productivity and Software Development.

Stephen is a Consulting Advisor to the Caribbean Telecommunications Union and a founding member of the Caribbean Network Operators Group (CaribNOG), a volunteer-based forum for network administrators. He also serves as a board member and facilitator with BrightPath Foundation, an international technology-education non-profit organization.

Air Link Communications Ltd, is considered the first company to offer affordable high speed Internet access. Myran Parran

Myron is a freelance Director Photography/Producer. Myron began capturing images on film in 1997. He is known for his creative muse and attention to detail. Myron's works have spanned a range of genres, and they include "Sweet Home Alabama," "The "Wire," "Wolverine," "Pirates of the Caribbean," and "The Expendables." To date he has worked on over 45 feature films covering 3D, Animation, Underwater and Aerial Photography. 

Myron has combined his background in Prosthetics and film by creating innovative camera platforms for stereoscopic films. Those innovations include remote controled stereoscopic, and aquatic devices used on the films Africa 3D, and Enchanted Kingdom 3D. 

Myron made his Directorial/DP debut on the series "Infamous," where he was credited with bringing a unique combination of strong visuals and seamless direction to the film. He is a member of the International Cinematographers Guild.

Peter Denis

  

Peter edits features, game elements and promotional material for the variety of Turner Networks. Most of my current work is with Turner Sports and their array of sports programming: NBA on TNT, PGA, MLB on TBS, and NBA TV.  Peter is the lead editor on NBA TV's Open Court.

Roan Ross

Producer/Director 

Roan works as a camera operator and editor for local projects, for local business' and festivals throughout DC. He’s also worked as DP, primary and secondary camera operator on several documentaries web-series and projects within and outside the United States.

All aspects of production are fun to me. So after years of working on projects for others, I've begun working on my own.

I now produce a traveling food show that is a combination of Diners, Drive Ins and Dives, and Man vs. Food. My goal is to bring fun new projects to light in hopes of reaching an audience that is not being fully represented. I also have a combination of shorts and web-series that go into production in the spring.

Algerson Vincent

  

Discovery Channel Video Editor, Freelance Travel Photographer, and Cinematographer. Avid Editor

Born on the tropical isle of Grenada and spending a short time in Montreal, all influences that defines Algerson’s style as he brings class, elegance and culture through his visual and creative lens.

A self-taught videographer, photographer & video editor, Algerson has crafted images & videos for publications such as Complexdwoman, media outlets like Discovery Communications Inc., Black Entertainment Television and promotional videos for countries such as Grenada, and Belize. He’s also done work for internationally known media website trinijunglejuice where he helps spread and maintain the caribbean culture thru his art form. 

In his professional career as a video editor Algerson has spent ten years [and counting] as one of Discovery Communications Inc,. youngest and brightest editors. He’s done work for international media logistics broadcasting over 40 networks across the globe. He’s worked in promos cutting promotional content and worked on both short form and long form editing for networks such as TLC, Investigation Discovery, Discovery Channel, Military Channel, and Science Channel to name a few.

In his professional career as a travel photographer and filmmaker Algerson explores the intersection of technology and film, while staying true to the authenticity of each place he travels and clients he serves. He works very closely with each client helping to bring their vision to a digital platform with his own unique and creative aesthetic flare.
